Sometimes the person undertaking this important process has little knowledge of the scope and responsibilities within library roles. It helps if you have a written job description, and also keep written records of your successful collaborations, achievements, objectives accomplished, commendations, and professional development undertaken.
An initial meeting between appraiser and library staff member held early in the year will allow you to:
- set objectives that align with school annual targets
- agree on performance measures
- identify any support, training or resources required to meet objectives
- agree on a date later in the year for the review meeting.
