More primary sources

The images in our galleries have come from the collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library, part of the National Library of New Zealand. There are many other sources of digitised primary source items available on the internet both in New Zealand and across the globe. Here we have selected some of the providers of rich digital content for you to explore.

Archives NZExplore a digitised selection of the 4,000,000 records Archives New Zealand holds, including the Treaty of Waitangi.

 


Digistore
Digistore New ZealandAvailable only to New Zealand educators, Digistore holds digital content including primary source material shaped to support learning across the curriculum. It covers all learning levels from preschool to Year 13.

 


DigitalNZ
Digital New ZealandDigitalNZ aims to make New Zealand digital content easy to find, share and use. Many of the digitised items in DigitalNZ are primary sources. DigitalNZ also features a set function that lets you quickly create, describe, and share your own galleries of primary sources. Content from Matapihi (disestablished in 2014) is still available via the DigitalNZ search service.


EPIC
EPICThe Epic suite of databases holds international and New Zealand magazine and newspaper articles, biographies, substantial reference works, and images. World History in Context includes a range of primary source items of all types.
