YA author Maureen Johnson sent out an interesting challenge on Twitter last week. She asked people to "take a well-known book, then to imagine the author of that book was of the opposite gender, or was genderqueer, and imagine what that cover might look like."

Have you checked out Figment?
It's a site for people to share their writing and a great place for students to write, read, and connect with other people who love books.
From the website:
Figment is a community where you can share your writing, connect with other readers, and discover new stories and authors. Whatever you're into, from sonnets to mysteries, from sci-fi stories to cell phone novels, you can find it all here.
