Feathers for Phoebe by Rod Clemen

Phoebe was small and grey and she didn’t like it. Not one bit.

Phoebe is a bird who is fed up with not being noticed; being grey feathered and ordinary is not good enough, “I want to stand out in a crowd.”  So Phoebe decides to take the matter in hand and seeks the assistance of the flamboyant Zelda who runs the most popular beauty salon in the forest. Unfortunately Phoebe’s makeover does not have the desired effect either, but a slip from a tree branch may change Phoebe’s life forever…As usual Rod Clement’s character illustrations are outstanding especially the outrageous Zelda who he confessed, “started out as a Bird of Paradise,” but then his imagination got the better of him!
