Discover (a set of free resources to support Visual Arts and Music disciplines of the Arts/ Nga Toi curriculum) is no longer available. However there are two ways you can still access many of the resources previously found in Discover.

Beta

The first is using our Beta site. Beta provides a gateway into the collections of the National Library and Alexander Turnbull library where many of the Discover resources originated. Simply type your query into the search box then limit by selecting View Gallery or Filter by Type.

Further filters are available once you get your search results back. They include date, subject, copyright, and more.

Primary Sources

This Services to Schools section features New Zealand primary sources (again drawn from the collections of the Alexander Turnbull library) arranged in a growing number of topic galleries, from ANZACs to New Zealand Arts. 

If you scroll down there are also pages that look at the definition and importance of primary sources within the classroom context and also how to find and use them in the online environment.
