Your library online: systems & access

“The library has standard systems and procedures that are simple, efficient, effective and well documented, that meet the users’ needs, and that encourage students to develop positive attitudes and to transfer the skills they learn to new situations.” p.32 The School Library & learning in the Information landscape: Guidelines for New Zealand Schools

Your library and its systems ensure access to the library collection and a wide range of information in all media. Web-based systems will let your students and teachers access the library catalogue from home, providing 24/7 access to your resources.

The following links will provide you with assistance in selecting an Integrated Library System (often referred to as a library management system, or automated library system), and on cataloguing and obtaining downloadable catalogue records.
