This book is visually beautiful and the narrative very complimentary. From Ranginui and Papatuanuku, the primal parents, to Raukatauri the goddess associated with flute music, the nine chapters of this book feature a Māori God and their legend while the art works sitting within each chapter illustrate these stories.
The simplicity of this format is quite stunning and completely alluring. The content and layout has been well though-out so that the reader is not overwhelmed with too many images.
Readers may browse or read for more detail. Either way the book provides a wonderful opportunity to develop a greater knowledge of Māori cultural heritage. A glossary of Māori words is also provided.
